Apple results defy the PR disaster

The mighty behemoth that is Apple Corp. has released earnings results for the third quarter of this year which are ahead of analysts’ expectations. The company which make all of the latest must-have gadgets such as iPhone, Mac, and iPad have seen net profit rise from $1.83bn in Q3 2009 to $3.25bn in the three months to June26th 2010. This translates to £3.51 earnings per share which has beaten analysts’ expectations of $3.11.

 

The company was expected to have a more successful year than the previous due to the popularity of the new iPhone which was released 24th June 2010, but the recent PR disaster that has occurred through errors in the products antenna have raised concerns over Apples ability to retain its brand appeal and unrivalled hype in the consumer market place.

 

With all of this taken in to account the company have steamed ahead with a huge increase in earnings, and attacked the products flaws by offering free iPhone 4 cases to all customers to fix the problem. This has not hindered sales as they continue to grow and consumers queue around the block for the latest Apple products.
