Steve Jobs has officially recognized the problems surrounding the iPhone 4 reception issues and decided to offer all customers a free bumper case until 30^th September 2010. Existing owners of the phone will be able claim a free bumper on the apple website from 22^nd July 2010.

This clearly appears to be a grand gesture by Mr Jobs, but we feel that they could do better. The cases in question (bumper) are not much to look at and to be honest are only really designed to fix a technical issue and don’t really offer much in the way of protection or style. As well as this, Steve has himself admitted that it is impossible for Apple to make enough to be able to give everyone a free case so he has offered to give everyone a selection from (we assume) third party companies.



It may well be possible that Otterbox, or Case-mate will be in with a shout here as they both make great ranges of cases. Also in the line could be Belkin or Insipio. It will be interesting to see how this plays out but for sure there are going to be some lucky iPhone users out there who end up not only fixing their reception issues, but also getting a free case at the same time…
